Even Celebrities Don’t Know Anything About Feminism!

If we make a list of all the popular words, which have been heard and tossed around by the general population, but their meanings are still ambiguous, then ‘FEMINISM‘ would top the charts.

Whenever someone says, ‘I’m a feminist”, people automatically assume that she hates men, burns bras, and chants slogans like “Free the nipple!”,”Free the Earth from male domination!”, “Boobs are the best!” and what not.

Feminism is a movement which preaches gender equality. It is a misconception that the movement is against men. Feminism is not about men v/s women. It never was. Sadly, it seems like even celebrities all over the world are not clear upon it.

8 times celebrities did not understand what Feminism truly is:

  1. Parineeti Chopra stands for gender equality, but she says she is not a feminist. BREAKING NEWS: Feminism=Gender equality. She has always made strong statement about period shaming, and sex, but she still does not want a connection with the F word. Sad.62514775

2. Parineeti’s internationally famous cousin Priyanka Chopra is no better. She too feels feminism is all about burning bras and hating men. Seriously, Piggy Chops? Extra sad.744356676

  1. Katrina Kaif rightly stood for the wrong practice of asking women celebs about their male partners, instead of focusing on their achievements. This is what feminism is about. Please get your facts straight!316739804

4. AGAIN, feminists do not hate men. In fact, we LOVE them! We just stand against the unfair inequalities which are gender-based.406278880

  1. Meryl Streep, who has often played strong female characters on screen, spoken up about the need for diversity in Hollywood, and led the applause during Patricia Arquette’s famous speech demanding equal pay, chose to call herself a ‘humanist’ in a Time Out interview. It is disappointing to see a women of her talent and stature say something like this.84411471
  2. Feminists are women pretending to be men? If that were the case, why would we even bother to stand for equal rights? We’ll just sit on the couch, with our hands down our pants.507823330
  3. She’s right about the balance- equal rights, equal pay, equal opportunities. Again, not a man hater!

8. FYI, Feminism is a part of humanism. Madonna has always stood for women empowerment, and never apologizing for being herself.  We love this Rebel Heart for being what she is, but we are really let down by her statement.551196954

Feminism is not about hating men, or upstaging men. All we want is equality, for both men and women. Celebs too, need to get their facts checked, and not pose as an embarrassment to the women society. They are influential and their words hold power, so, they need to make sure what they’re talking about before speaking!
