UNICEF said Sunday that nearly 1 million children in areas affected by the earthquake are in “urgent need” of humanitarian assistance. UNICEF staff reported dwindling water supplies, power shortages and communications breakdowns.
Nepal-born International fashion designer Prabal Gurung has also raised thousands of dollars for the Shikshya Foundation Nepal’s relief fund.
He says – “I’m from Nepal originally and still have many friends and family members there. The news of the earthquake is heartbreaking. The devastating aftermath, gut wrenching. Since I can’t be there to help personally, I decided the best way for me to help was to leverage my resources and connections to raise funds to help in the relief efforts. Non action is not an option.”
Taking inspiration from Prabal, let us also do our bits even if we can’t be physically there to support the cause. DONATE HERE – https://www.crowdrise.com/NepalEarthquakeFund.
You can even donate in actress Alia bhatt’s cause for Nepal Earthquake – http://ketto.org/standbynepal.
