‘Sakhi’ is Hindustan Zinc’s CSR initiative wherein as many as 3000 women of Rajasthan are given vocational trainings in order to be financially independent. Yesterday, ‘Sakhi’ showcased a fashion show at a city hotel with many dignities in presence like Diya Kumari, Home Minister Gulab Chand, etc.
The women in ‘Sakhi’ are given training in making of carpets, ethnic wear, school uniforms, pappads, masalas, and other household items. And trust us, their artwork on the ramp was no less than any couture line by our renowned designers. Have a look:
The intricate work of zardozi, lace, mirror and gota-patti on velvet, net and tulle fabrics was giving us D-day goosebumps!
Other colors that dominated the ramp last night were everything from turquoise to Monaco blue, from grey to oxblood.
Layering and asymmetry were another heart-throb factors that you can try wearing this festive season.
And if you’re looking for some semi-formal wear, you will not be disappointed either! Various embroideries done on pastel cotton fabrics won our hearts.
All in all, the fashion show by Sakhi was not just a glittering affair, but a statement by these underprivileged women towards their empowering future.
