What most of us aren’t doing, these sex-workers from Maharashtra have done for the victims of Chennai flood. They skipped their one meal of the day for few days to save and collect 1 lakh rupees towards Chennai relief fund. Commendable!
These sex workers live in Ahmednagar district. In an event organized by an NGO called Snehalaya, these humble souls presented the cheque of Rs 1 lakh to District Collector Anil Kawade. Snehalaya founder Girish Kulkarni told PTI, “These women were restless since the last four days when they came to know of the deluge in Chennai. They decided they should do something to help residents there.”
Out of the three thousand sex workers in the district, two thousand of them contributed to the fund. We’re truly inspired with their warmth, and you?
