We discovered Artist Surbhi Soni when Mr. Sudhir Mathur, Social Entrepreneur showed us her many paintings hanging in every corner of his beautiful home. By the way, Sudhir is supporting our campaign ‘Classroom on Wheels’ of which Surbhi is a part.
We have enrolled 10 famous designers of Jaipur who are creating masterpieces using few old school bags. Once done, these art works will be put on sale for Jaipurites. So yes, you are welcome! With help of these funds we will rent van stuffed with furniture that will turn into Class Room on wheels to assist slum kids study under guidance of the teacher.
Without wasting a minute, let’s get back to our lovely Surbhi, and tell you what chef-d’oeuvre she is creating!
“Since I could LUCKILY got hold of this white bag, I will be using it as a canvas”, says Surbhi. “And since you’ve already named me as the ‘Floral Queen’ of Jaipur, I am creating a flower vase using this old bag.”
Amazing! But since her every artwork is unique, how is this one going to find its exception?
Surbhi answers, “I am cutting the bag in 2 halves. One will be used as the vase, while the other will be further cut and be made into 3-d flowers.”
We can already imagine the whole scene on the white canvas board. With those huge paint brushes dipped in bright colors, dear prospective buyers, expect a new Georgia O’Keeffe to emerge. Till then, if you want to know more about Surbhi’s fascinating life, click here.
