- JWB Post
- March 8, 2016
Air India is celebrating International Women’s Day in a unique way. Air India created history by operating the longest all-women crew flight on March 6th. And today, i.e., March 8th twenty-two domestic flights will be operated by an all-women crew.
Awesome, right?
On Sunday, March 6, Air India’s, 16 hours 22 minutes flight AI-173 from New Delhi to San Francisco, operated by an all women staff. It included not only the cabin crew, cockpit crew, and the doctor but also the ground staff, customer care staff including the operator, technician, engineer, flight dispatcher and trimmer.
Shubhangi Singh was the captain of the flight.
The airline claimed to have created a world record as part of its International Women’s Day (March 8) celebrations and publicized it through various media and also shared some pictures of the crew.
Kudos, Air India for taking up and executing such a great idea.
More Power to women!
Indeed, a Happy Women’s Day!
