Wardrobe malfunction is not an uncommon phenomenon at fashion ramps. Irrespective of how grand or minimalistic the fashion show is, there will always be some button being all mischievous, or some strap being all slippery, creating a runway mishap.
Something of the same sort happened on the day-5 of Paris Fashion Week wherein the legendary British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood was showcasing her ready-to-wear Fall 2016 collection.
One of the models sporting Vivienne’s collection had a majestic oops moment when a wardrobe malfunction left her right breast exposed.
Obviously in a state of shock and embarrassment, and not knowing what to do, the model kept walking to keep the show going.
Now, you may think this to be the highlight of the event that gathered everyone’s wide-eyed attention, but you couldn’t be more wrong. The incident that followed suit stole the show and deserved to go down in history.
Westwood, the designer largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashion into mainstreams, hopped onto the stage and did what needed to be done.
The 74-year old gathered her panicked model in an embrace and quickly adjusted her garment thereby saving her from further embarrassment.
Fashion designers usually take to the ramp towards the end of the show to take credit for their collections, but Vivienne is an exemplary exception to this.
Her act of rushing to the stage to help her model at the cost of interrupting her own show is praiseworthy. And that makes us adore Vivienne even more!
