BigHeartz Foundation’s first event ‘Jaipur Joy Ride’ took place earlier today to promote a healthy mode of conveyance in Jaipur.

Founder and organizer Naheed Khan told JWB that her another main idea is to encourage Jaipur women to take up cycling. She said, “We have so many men cyclists in the city, but surprisingly few women. Didn’t we all cycle during our childhood?”

That’s a question worth pondering upon.

The event took place at Amar Jawan Jyoti, one of the most peaceful and beautiful places in the Pink city. The attendees included Smart Natives International school’s kids, their parents, Rajasthan Police Academy’s cadets, and many cyclist enthusiasts.

Look at these female cadets enjoying their selfie-moment:

What made us wonder was the vast number of male cyclists who gathered for the movement in order to encourage the city’s women. Wearing colorful tees and safety helmets, they took the Vidhansabha road by storm.

Princess Diya Kumari and FICCI FLO Jaipur chapter’s Chairperson, Ms. Alka Batra graced the event as the Guests of Honor. Diya Kumari addressed the audience saying, “I am here because I want to see a greener and cleaner Jaipur city. We’re living in one of the most beautiful cities of India, which is a favorite among tourists. In a quest to become a metro city, I don’t want us to be covered with smoke and pollution. To fight the catastrophe, cycling seems like the most promising decision.”

Ms. Alka Batra added, “I agree with the Princess. Cycling early in the morning is surely the best decision one can take. It is not only healthy physically, but also psychologically. I encourage you to go out and ‘feel the cool breeze riding the two-wheels’.”

Before the cyclists could take their mini voyage from Amar Jawan Jyoti to Statue Circle, the little kiddos decided to present a couple of applause-worthy performances on patriotic songs that Bollywood has bestowed upon us.

BTW, we couldn’t resist putting this picture here. Sitting in the sun ain’t that easy, fellows!

It was about time that the cyclists get on their wheels and conquer the Jaipur roads with the positive message. You can see in the picture below how energetically Diya Kumari and Alka Batra hoisted the flags.

Funnily enough, we could catch the ‘running fathers’ squad who were chasing their little ones on cycle, making sure they don’t get hurt on the busy road.

Sad, how we don’t have any cycling tracks in the city. The govt. should focus on the issue so that no life is harmed.

On a lighter note, smile while you look at these moments. *adorable-alert*

The event was a blast that also proved to be a good exercising session for Team JWB, as we came to attend the event cycling. Yay!
