These 4 Online Dating Sites Have Taken The Internet By Storm

In our days, dating was different. Sigh. We used to ‘look’ for the right person, meet them for ‘real’ and fall in love. So would say the most recent grown up generation. I’m kinda one of them, or maybe I’m somewhere on the cusp where the internet madness came in.

Remember how we were always buried into our computer screens because of the enigma surrounding online dating? There was ‘Orkut’, those Yahoo chat rooms, Hi-5 and along came Facebook! In ‘those times’, online dating was laid back. We’d just send friend requests to common friends, begin conversations innocently trying to just ‘make friendships’.

But, things are indeed different now in the Indian subcontinent. People are opening up to online dating sites.

Here are four dating apps that are ruling the internet currently:

Tinder

Rings a bell? A woman was in the news for finding a date in Antarctica, and then India is one of the most populated countries in the world. What’s funny is that most of the participants on the app are males.

A certain user said, “I installed it just for fun. I wasn’t looking for anything serious. I went on a couple of dates too, but they were pretty boring”.

TrulyMadly

And if the Tinder humiliation of uneven man to woman ratio wasn’t humiliating enough, TrulyMadly was created. Out of its 2.2 million users on the Indian app, only 30% are females. This app can be a good choice, too, though. They claim that their verification is a 100% authentic, and they assign trust scores to users. Such scores are based on their Facebook, LinkedIn profiles, mobile number, photo ID and salary slip verification.

Woo

I am especially smitten by its name. Because a girlfriend/boyfriend makes you go ‘Woo’. This is a website that will help you go… well… ‘woo.’ Woo’s CEO Sumesh Menon said, “Woo is more about meaningful relationships than a casual date or a hook-up. We have included LinkedIn integration so people can search for partners of a particular profession. Also, for safety and privacy, we only display the initials of the person till they are matched”.

“We have around 2 million users in India with the numbers growing every day. At Woo, we always want more mature relationships to take place through the platform.”

The app has also noticed that women prefer men entrepreneurs to be their perfect matches.

Floh

Well, not everyone can access it. You need to get an invite to get into the dating world of Floh. It’s a paid service, though. You gotta be pretty serious, it seems, o be able to connect with people.

You can explore, and if you’re interested in speaking to someone, in particular, you can ask the Floh team for one-on-one interaction. It uses math to make matches!
