I love how a saree can be draped in a million ways and still look graceful. There’s the Gujrati style, the dhoti style, and names that I don’t even know of. That’s the beauty of the flowy, five metre cloth.
On her Instagram page, artist Shweta Malhotra created a piece called “Drapes of India” for a show at a Helinsky local gallery.

“My inspiration behind the piece mostly stemmed from my personal experience of not wearing saris because the last time I wore one I had to get it re-draped about three times,” Malhotra told BuzzFeed.
And this one’s her favourite.
“It has this very easy going vibe, it’s traditional yet can look very contemporary and stylish, and well, slightly easier to drape than the usual,”
It took her a month to research and illustrate the 12 curated drapes.
How interesting! You can follow her work here.
