Recently, a British merchandiser Amber Smith posted two photos on Facebook along with a caption describing two sides of a person’s life.

The first picture looks like a regular selfie showcasing the social face of a person. But the second is captured after she suffered a panic-anxiety attack.

God knows why I’m doing this, but people need some home truths..Top picture: What I showcase to the world via social…

Smith shared the photos to make people aware of the other side of the people that most of them conceal behind a ‘social’ mask as they feel that the society won’t accept their reality.

She shared her experience and stated that a lot of people suffer from depression, panic attacks, or another kind of mental illnesses but choose to hide due to the stigma associated with them. She explained, “It disgusts me that so many people are so uneducated and judgmental over the topic. I’ve been battling with anxiety and depression for years and years, and there’s still people that make comments like ‘you’ll get over it’, ‘you don’t need tablets, just be happier’, ‘you’re too young to suffer from that.’”

She added, “The more awareness there is, the less people who will suffer in silence.”

True that!
