In a recent survey on literacy and numeracy, that was conducted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation & Development (OECD) has Finland sitting right on the top of the list.

Why is the literacy rate of Finland so high? Finland is updated and is continuously experimenting in the field of imparting education to children.

Recently, Finland has shifted its focus from ‘subject based learning’ to ‘topic based learning’. “This is going to be a big change in education in Finland that we’re just beginning,” said Lisa Pohjolainen, the in charge of youth & adult education in Helsinki.

The system will fully be implemented by Finland by 2020 and will remove conventional subjects like History and Science.

If introduced in India, do you think ‘topic based learning’ would be a better choice? Share with us, below.
