OMG, Pallavi Jaipur Is Dishing Out Details From Lakme Fashion Week’16 Backstage!

I follow all the major ramp-walks religiously. Meeting Fashion Designer Pallavi Jaipur was fully intentional because I wanted to dig out some extra spicy information.
Below is my chat with her where she talks about her latest Bohemian collection, behind the scenes’ fun at LFW’16 and the new Star-y friends she met at the gala:
Me: First of all, show me your collection.
Pallavi: You will be surprised to see it. Apart from introducing new luxurious prêt line, I introduced this new collection called ‘Jaipur Se’ which has indo-western wear. It’s my first time in this range. It is a mix of Indian ethnicity and western styling. You can see how the fabrics like chanderi, chiffons and denim are given modern cuts.
Me: It’s vintage because of the prints yet oh-so-chic!
Pallavi: I know, I want to wear all of them myself. (laughs) This collection has no mandatory clothing style. You can pair the maxi with the pants, or the kimono with a skirt. It’s all about desirous styling.
Me: Well, I can see the hint of brand ‘Pallavi Jaipur’ in this couture line. The golden embroideries and embellishments say it all.
Pallavi (chuckles): You’re right. I can’t do without golden motifs be it appliques, sequins or patchwork. When done little, it gives the cloth a regal look. This collection is perfect for a beach party, cocktail madness and even the red carpet glamour. I have got jumpsuits, skirts, maxis, kimonos, singlets, wraparounds and crop-tops for you!
Me: Talkin about the red carpet, I can’t wait to know about your collaboration with the B-town celebs!
Pallavi (excited): I met Anil Kapoor and his family over a cup of coffee to discuss the future projects. While I was exhibiting in the LFW, I bumped into Huma Qureshi who admired my work, too. Also, old friend Mandira Bedi has decided to keep my collection in her M Store! It’s wonderful how they first walk the ramp for you, become friends and turn into buyers. I am grateful.

Me: Congratulations! It was indeed a star-studded event for you. Any gossips?
Pallavi (laughs): Yes, finally the main talk. I saw this famous woman from the industry wrapped in a knitted fabric. I mean, it’s summer for God’s sake. Another faux oas was a woman wearing gladiators with furs. I think, these two fashion should never be mixed.
Me: BTW, who impressed you the most?
Pallavi: I loved what Bollywood men were wearing, espcially Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
Me: Sigh…Ranveer Singh.
Pallvi: I can totally feel you, girl.
