Stylist Shruti Misra Shares Her Intimate Shopping Experience At Jaipur’s amanté Store

The last week of January was not ordinary. It’s etched in my memory as Jaipur witnessed its grand launch of amanté’s first lingerie store in the World Trade Park, JLN marg.

Earlier, too, our city has paved the way for fashionable international brands like Zara, Aldo, Vero Moda, United Colors of Benetton, etc. With arms desperate and wide open, we extended a warm welcome to amanté, a Premiere Sri Lankan lingerie chain.

It’s pretty cool how amanté has opened its second store in India in Jaipur, the first being in Mumbai. (HAH! Get in line, Delhi)

Along with Team JWB, I was invited to its opening ceremony. I scanned through the store; the showroom’s wide glass window caught my eye where there were about a hundred hearts flying out of a gift box. That reminds me, smelling Valentines Day, are we?

Dear men, pink teddies, chocolates, and flowers are now old-school gifts. #JustSaying.

The launch became even brighter for me when a little birdie told me that celebrity Karishma Tanna would be inaugurating the store. You know what, being a Fashion Stylist, I have always admired her experimental dress-sense.

While the invitees and the media were going gaga over her, we stole some time to explore the collection.

Especially, the Moonstruck Collection! Girls, the line, is irresistibly seductive. The shades of silver and bronze will leave you awestruck. PS – it was Karishma Tanna’s personal pick.

Before I wrap up, here’s a quick look at the wardrobe must-haves that you can pick from the store:

– Vanish Panty,

– Hipster Brief, a classic and less bulky brief

– A Demi Cup Bra,

– and, a Thong.

Because there is no harm in performing ‘fashion experiments’. #JustSayin.’

And in case you’re worried about how to buy the right kind of lingerie, allow me to guide you, girlfriends. Keep in mind these few points and you’re all set to ‘lift up’ your comfort and style:

Know your size: Wearing the wrong size can harm your body shape, give you unbearable pain in the breasts and might also damage your everyday look.

Pick what is comfortable: Don’t pick up something which isn’t comfortable just because your friend has suggested. I recommend you to try many shapes and styles before you finalize your pick. Don’t worry, nobody is judging you even if you enter the trial room 20 times.

Buying the right color: Nobody enjoys the sight of pink bra showing from inside your white kurta. It’s a big fashion disaster when your lingerie doesn’t match your attire. Contrasting shades are big NO, NO! Unless, it’s intentionally worn under a sheer top to make a statement. According to me, some essential colors are white, nude and black.

Laundry time: Always, always read the washing tag, otherwise generally ignored. Pampering your lingerie extends its lifespan.
