This Photo Project Caught Top Models Sans Make-Up In Their Personal Spaces

While flipping the glitzy pages of Femina or Cosmo, has it ever occurred to you what the life of the glamorous divas featured on them must be like?

A lot of us look up to these models, trying to look like them, stealing their dress-sense or borrowing their beauty regimes, at the same time thinking of them to be all flawless.

But, guess what? Even though they hail from the alluring fashion world, they are just like ‘girls-next-door,’ like you and me. They have their share of imperfections, they straddle with their notions of insecurities, they go about living an ordinary day-to-day life – catching up with friends for street food, going for grocery shopping, treating themselves to a good book and good tea – just like most of us do.

We do not know much about this avatar of them because we never really bother to see them as normal people. And this very fact inspired the Soup to create Unfiltered – A photo essay on models and their real lives – by following six popular models and documenting them in their personal spaces.

“A lot of advertising, fashion and media objectifies models and creates unrealistic ideals of beauty. To break this stereotype, I decided to show a side of these women that isn’t normally seen by the public,” said Meera Ganapathi of The Soup.
