For This Jaipur Couple, Gardening Together Is A Way Of Romance

The making of a garden is a curious sort of story, especially if nourished with love-minerals.

This is one such story. We met Mr. Pal Singh Verma and his wife, Shashi, who love to indulge themselves in gardening. Together, of course. So why not talk about their green-chemistry this Valentine’s Day!

Mr. Verma gave a brief about their relationship before digging the moist soil, “We’re married for 25 years now. Actually, we’re completing 26 this April. I am the son of a farmer and therefore, know most of the processes involved in planting the saplings.”

Mrs. Verma added, “He is extremely good with baby plants. I am more into choosing which plant will be brought to our little garden while he looks into detailing. Our fusion is the secret of this garden you’ve come to shoot today.”

The Verma family has affectionately devoted a quality space for their green friends. They have got a guava tree, a banana tree and a mini kitchen garden along with many colorful flowers adorning their garden.  Specifically, the red poppies. “We absolutely enjoy cooking Palak plucked from our garden,” the couple said in chorus.

Gardens are never finally made. They have to be flourished. This is precisely what Mrs. Verma believes. She explains, “We don’t buy plants from nurseries. We’ve learned how to regenerate most of the species. Internet has helped us suggest new combinations and new ideas. Also, we’ve told our friends to gift us plants on our anniversaries.”

That’s a wise idea, by the way.

Talking about their favorite plants, like any other obsessed parents, they couldn’t pick just one. “I love all of them. The Rajnigandha, the Nargis, the spider plant. I mean, I can’t decide. Can you?” she threw the question at him.

Curious enough, we asked them, “So when can we catch you in some action?” The answer made us more curious – “Right now.” And then they transferred few saplings of the monkey orchid in the earthen pots. See for yourself.

Are you also singing “Ke dil garden garden ho gaya. Ke bhanwra bagiyan mein kho gaya”?

#Cupid Wishes:

Plant the seeds of love, care, trust, and respect in your heart that shall make your life a colorful garden filled with happiness and serenity.
