Prithika Yashini, India’s First Transgender Sub-Inspector, Finally Takes Charge

Remember K Prithika Yashini we spoke about some time back? The 25-year-old transgender person is all set to join the Tamil Nadu Police Force.
Yashini is one of the 22 people to receive the appointment orders from Sumit Sharan, city Police Commissioner, this Monday.
Speaking to The Hindu, she told her journey was very difficult. Expressing happiness over being the country’s first transgender Sub-Inspector, she vowed to fight against foeticide and prevent crime against women apart from stressing for reservation for transgenders in education and jobs. “My aim is to become an IPS officer,” she said.
Way to go, Yashini.
