The Union Budget was announced on Wednesday by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, and looks like that the funds for women and children will be increased from Rs. 1,56,528 crores to Rs. 1,84,632 (2017-2018).

There will also be a setting up of Mahila Shakti Kendra at a village level with an allocation of Rs. 500 crores in 14 lakh ICDS Anganwadi centers.

These centers, he promises, will be a way to provide empowerment to the rural women, while also providing employment to the women.
