Female NASA Scientists To Be Made Into Legos?
- JWB Post
- August 1, 2016
Legos are brutal. You can use them to practically kill people. Don’t believe me? Try stepping on one. Well, anyhoo, Legos could have a brand new addition.
Maia Weinstock, the deputy editor of MIT News, calls herself a “Lego tinkerer” and has proposed a new Lego set dedicated to the women of NASA.
The Lego set is proposed to have five NASA women pioneers: Margaret Hamilton, Katherine Johnson, Nancy Grace Roman, Mae Jemison, and Sally Ride.
“Women have played critical roles throughout the history of the U.S. space program … yet in many cases, their contributions are unknown or under-appreciated — especially as women have historically struggled to gain acceptance in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM),” she wrote in her proposal.
