JWB Attends FICCI Flo Women Of The Future Awards Jaipur 2016

The second edition of Women of the Future Awards took place at Birla Auditorium Jaipur on March 12.
The event was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the popular TV actresses Kunika Sadanan, Sushmita Mukherjee, Chairperson FICCI Flo Jaipur Alka Batra, Swami Ganeshanand, Writer Nandita Puri and Organiser Ajit Soni.
The film actresses Juhi Chawla and Raveena Tandon conveyed their messages through video.
Swami Ganeshanand advocated, “The day when a girl is not killed in her mother’s womb, will be the day, women will be truly respected in our society.”
To support the initiative ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, a bunch of girls, flash mobbed and took a satirical take through a nukkad natak on the societal issue of gender discrimination. It proceeded with a fashion show and a documentary on Women for Social Change – Change Needs Courage, featuring influential women of the world who contributed to the growth of the society.
The women from various fields and walks of life were felicitated for their contribution to the society in one way or the other.
Below are some award winners with their achievements.
Anu Mathur, the only Indian woman to be selected by U.S. Embassy for NASA’s Space Program in 2011.
Dr. Sunila Khandelwal, for her contribution in health and welfare of elderly women, and for her inception of the Rajasthan’s first menopause clinic.
Richa Gaur, an International Sportsperson, who won a gold medal in Taekwondo in Asian Games 2015.
Sumiti Mittal, for promoting basic education for the underprivileged children through her school Pratham Sikhsha.
Amrita Maurya, for her contribution to journalism.
Geeta Shankar, a social activist since 1989 and a member of Lioness Club.
Madhu Gurjar, a social activist. A small girl of age 15-16 who refused to get married and since then, has been working towards abolishing the child marriage system in her village.
Geetanjali Kasliwal, an architect for promoting the concept of green living.
Nisha Jain Grover, an educator, counselor, psychologist. She is listed among the 100 successful women of Rajasthan.
Sanover Rangrej, a social activist who’s working towards upliftment of women of Muslim society.
Dr. Prabha Om, for her outstanding work in General & Cancer surgeries.
Veenu Paliwal, the only Super Biker in Rajasthan.
and many others.
The event was a true celebration of empowered women and a reinforcement of the fact that a woman can achieve anything and everything, what she needs is just an opportunity and freedom to follow her dreams.
