Lakmé Fashion Week Holds North-East Model Auditions For The First Time

The Lakmé Fashion Week is perhaps the most anticipated fashion event of the year. Fashion bloggers start digging in their mother’s closets for vintage fashion pieces, Fashion critics mentally charge themselves to bash people for their fashion choices; Fashion designers start applying finishing touches to their garments, and Fashion models from all over India start flocking to Mumbai.
However, this time, around, Lakmé Fashion Week partnered with the North East Fashion & Design Council to host its first ever North-East auditions in Guwahati, Assam.
The jury panel for the same consisted of Atsu Sekhose, a designer from Nagaland & Barsha Rani Bishaya, an Assamese actress, among others.
The models graced the runway in traditional Assamese Mekhela Chadors, for the purpose of celebrating the traditional heritage of the region.
