Niqabi women are expected to behave in a certain way by the society. They are often considered as victims in need of saving from their conservative religion or that they are not ready to show any acceptance towards modern western values.

JWB stands on the belief that the niqab is not a sign of oppression but empowerment.
German-born Gisele Marie is breaking all those stereotypes about the niqab and Islam. The 42-year-old was born into a Catholic family before converting to Islam. Gisele is a heavy metal guitarist and has her own rock band. “I have no intention of pleasing everyone. My intention is to do my own music,” she said.
