This Video Shows The Chilling Reality Of Domestic Violence

We all know that domestic violence is a menace that risks the very human nature of our society? But in spite of the fact that many cases of domestic violence are being reported nowadays, we never seem to pay heed to the fact that how many women silently tolerate abuse for years before speaking out.
A new short film made by J Walter Thompson Worldwide depicts the grim reality of silence on the part of the women and how it encourages their assaulters to hurt them repeatedly.
Shown beautifully through dance moves, the film focuses on the ordeals of a woman who is regularly beaten by her spouse with all her pleas falling on deaf ears.
Halfway through the video, we realize that she is choosing to keep silent because she feels that this is normal and she deserves no better.
It is this mindset that the short film aims to bring into the light. The mindset which results into a woman constantly castigating herself, giving the perpetrator of the domestic abuse the chance to injure her again and again.
Be it the impeccable choreography or the choice of the background music, the video is goosebump-inducing and makes its viewers uncomfortable.
At times one gets infuriated while watching the film but cannot help thinking that how many such women has to deal with this sort of inhuman treatment EVERY DAY, thinking that they have no other choice.
At the end of the video we see realization finally dawning on the woman, as she chooses to break her silence and realizing that the man cannot hurt her anymore.
MORAL: We have to change this mindset where it could be years before a woman finally reports domestic violence. Please, ladies, be forthcoming and never let your thoughts tread on the path where you think that abuse is normal.
Because only through that way we can end domestic violence.
