Unable To Conceive, This Lady Started Planting & Nurturing Trees

This woman in Karnataka along with her late husband is an inspiration for all of us.
Thimmakka was very young when she got married and soon, the couple got to know that she would never be able to bear children naturally. They were shunned by the society and villagers ridiculed her inability to conceive.
But the couple had something else in their mind. They started planting banyan trees and nurtured them like their children. Even after the husband’s death, Thimmakka continued her mission to plant and nurture as many trees as possible.
Till now, she has planted 384 trees alongside the Hulikal- Kudur highway and the locals have given her the title, “Saalumarada,” which means rows of trees.
