Zuni Chopra, daughter of Vidhu Vinod Chopra & critic Anupama Chopra had two published poetry books to her name.
She’s well carrying her uncle Vikram Chandra’s literary footsteps and trotting forward with her first work of fiction: The House That Spoke.
In a recent interview with Vogue, she talked about dedicating the book to Kashmir. The story was set in London, but, she says, “it wasn’t a place I loved or belonged to.”
“Set in Kashmir, the story had a whole new purpose and dimension. It was now a story that needed to be told, and I fell in love with it. So you see, it’s not so much I set it in Kashmir as it is that it came to be set in Kashmir,”
She’s also giving you a dose of inspiration while she’s writing her debut novel.
“You don’t need to be a prodigy to achieve your ambitions and make your dreams come true,” says Chopra.
“One major tip I would give is to not be deterred by believing that you’re somehow not good enough for any reason. If you believe in something enough, it will happen.”
