Central Govt. Women Employees To Get Three-Month Paid Leave Post Sexual Harassment
- JWB Post
- July 18, 2016
Sexual harassment is a serious issue that is ridiculously common in the workplace. Females working in the central govt. who have faced sexual harassment at work, will now be allowed to take a three-month paid leave during the enquiry period.
Everything from physical contact, sexual remarks, sexual demands, fall under the sexual harassment at workplace. This leave will be additional to the leaves already sanctioned by the central government.
The reason why this is a good decision is that in many situations, the accused try to convince the victim to take their complaints back. In some cases, they would also try to threaten them.
A senior official remarked, “It will come as a relief to the victims who undergo a lot of trauma while working in the office that too in the presence of the accused.”
