Did You Know That The Penalty For Torturing Animals Is Almost Zilch?

This one is so sad that it’s funny. Yeah, you might think that I’m probably heartless for laughing about such a cruel issue. But, what will feeling morbid about it do?
If you’re clueless and think this woman has lost her mind, I gotta tell you; you’ll probably feel the same way when I tell you that according to The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, the fine for torturing an animal lies between Rs. 10 & Rs. 50.
I mean, are you kidding me? I could throw rocks at a dog, seriously injure him for my enjoyment and get away with it by paying Rs. 10?
You know what’s worse? If the offense is repeated within a year, the penalty goes up to Rs. 100.
Tell me, now? Isn’t this a LOL situation? Sometimes, if the police are extra affectionate towards animals, you might land up in jail for a few months, but that’s it.
This is one of those moments when I lose all my faith in humanity.
