We were proud when Jaipur’s prodigy Chirag Nainani showcased his collection at the prestigious Lakme Fashion Week earlier this year.

And in no time, he has already become a Bollywood-fave. Recently, Shilpa Shetty Kundra wore his Kedia-Blazer.

The young boy with mega dreams finally got the chance to show the world his creative side. Let’s talk about his women’s wear collection which is an accurate representation of Rajasthani art.

Chirag’s collection will delight people who love flaunting cotton during hot summers. A fan of Indigo dye, his couture marks a rather fashionable twist to this coloring print.

He states, “I applied for Lakme Fashion Week. Earlier I didn’t get selected, and this was my third time. I am so proud to be a part of LFW’s GenNext. I was fortunate to make quality business contacts, and I am looking forward to stepping boldly into the industry.”

Looking at the kind of market that Chirag is catering, he is not really afraid of the competition. “There are very few designers reviving the lost Indian textiles. That too, a particular dye. I am sure, in no time, I will create my niche market”, remarks Chirag.

So what else was his USP on the LFW’s ramp? “The asymmetric patterns. Women loved the uneven one-pieces. Sarah Jane Dias, who walked the ramp for me, loved my work”, rejoices the designer.

Chirag revealed us the scariest moment from the ramp. He says, “So one of my models wearing a saree forgot to remove the safety pins. The moment she started walking, something happened to the saree pleats, and it turned into a skirt. Now I know that most of the audience didn’t even realize what had happened. But, for me, it was a wardrobe malfunction. Lord, I can never forget that moment.”

Ask him for a fashion advice, and he will say, “For me, blue is the color for every season. And when you’re in Rajasthan, you gotta wear Indigo! Try wearing lots of maxis and singlets to save yourself from the scorching heat.”
