JWB Eats: The Day We Tasted Bitter-Sweet At Café Thadi
- JWB Post
- June 23, 2016
The JWB Girls were much excited to explore Raja Park’s which is known for its chai and snacks.
Anvita and I were more enthusiastic because it was our first time of ‘JWB Eats.’
Thadi has three sitting areas, one on Level 1 and two on the rooftop. So, we chose the covered area on the rooftop.
The ambience was pleasant. The windows were detailed with colorful tea glasses and the Desi Aluminium Tea Pots.
The walls were doodled with the tea-inspired art and some catchy lines.
Since Anvita and I were in high spirits, we were having our good little time. Like THIS!
And then Anvita went…
Ummm, I dunno know how to describe her Avatar!
However, the staff looked inattentive and mismanaged. Maybe, because the manager was not present at the time.
Anyhow, by the time our food arrived, I was so hungry that I just pounced on the food like how our Dogger-in-chief, Poppy, does, just by sniffing on the smell of food. *missing poppy*
Priya exclaimed, “Pasta is really good. It’s creamy and loaded with vegetables.”
We could only manage a “Hmm,” as all of us were busy devouring the yummy White Pasta.
My favorite, however, was Chinese Bhel. It was crispy and tangy.
Komal announced, “You know I am not a fan of Chinese Bhel, but this is good.”
Good for you Komal!
For the drinks, we were served Thadi ki Chai, Cold Coffee, Mint Iced Tea, Mojito and Black and White (Oreo) Shake.
Sanchit seemed a bit unhappy with his chai as he snatched away my cold coffee, which was refreshingly cool like all the other drinks.
As, the next dish, Honey Chilli Potato arrived, Anvita picked up one and did this!
Dear Anvita, not every mustache looks like our logo. Give it some taav, maybe. LOL!
We had to wait for another half an hour before our next dish Cheese Veg Grilled Sandwich was served.
We had noticed this wall painting at the entrance.
And Priya reminded us by saying,
“Maybe, we should tell the staff, Apka Dhyaan kidhar hai, Customer idhar hai.”
Ha-Ha, true that!
JWB Verdict:
While the White Pasta and Chinese Bhel were well-prepared and delicious, other dishes were average in taste. The presentation of the food was neat and up to the mark. However, I’ve found the portion size of the dishes too small to be sufficiently shared by four persons.
Also, the service was painfully slow, and the staff was impolite.
However, the best thing about our Eat-date was the melodious music that played in the cafe.
BTW, Cafe Thadi is a good option if you are tight on the pocket as the prices are quite reasonable.
