Maana Patel: 15 Year Old Breaks Her Own National Swimming Record

India has a swimming sensation, and she’s just 15 years old! She has emerged as the fastest back stoke swimmer across all age groups. She has created history by winning the “Overall Best Swimmer” in 3 National Championships.
Maana Patel has successfully shattered 3 national records at such a young age. Even this time around at the 69th Senior National Aquatic Championship, held at Rajkot, Patel stole the show.
She broke her own National record created in 2014 for the Women’s 50m backstroke, with an unbelievable timing of 30.25 seconds. Second and Third positions were won by Jyotsna Pansare and Avantika Chavan respectively.
She started swimming at the tender age of 7 for the purpose of gaining a little weight, since she was bordering on anorexia. And look at her now!
She is among the few athletes who have the support of the Olympic Gold Quest (OGC), and she her new target is to break records at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
This shows how important it is to try new things in life. Who knows, maybe you’ll be bloody good at it!
