Mary Kom Gives Knockout Punches To Parliamentarians During Rio 2016 Talk

Till now you might have seen Mary Kom’s lethal punches take the steam out of her opponents in the boxing ring but wait till you see her knockout punches (read questions) at parliamentarians who are not too accustomed to hearing serious questions from celebrities.

Within three days of going to Rajya Sabha, Mary Kom raised the issue of lack of facilities for Indian athletes in the parliament. At a time cricketers, film actors and most celebrities are happy to play mute spectators in the parliament after being elected; Mary Kom is an exception.

“We get the diet supplements during the competition but after that, all of it stops coming.”

Woah, now, that’s a lethal jab and from the way, sports and youth affairs minister Vijay Goel is seen drinking a glass of water, it seems that it has landed in the right place.

A murmur of applause rises from the parliamentarians as Mary Kom continues with her flurry of punches.

The moment she wished the Indian contingent going to Rio 2016, from the loud thumping of tables by all the Rajya Sabha members, it was clear that she has won another round.

When it comes to speeches and oration, we know that Indian politicians have no match to them and can sway the opinion of the masses with just a few lies said with exquisite oratory.

But when it comes to the passionate words of a world renowned sportswoman, appealing for better facilities for her fellow athletes, the politicos have no answer but to take the punches silently because these words are not mere assurances or false promises; they come right from the heart.

And Mary Kom, much like the way you effortlessly won the hearts of countless Indians with your stellar performances in the ring, you have created a world record once again by punching out the living daylights of the myth that celebrities are just mute spectators in the parliament.
