Read JWB’s Oops! Moment With Milind Soman In Jaipur

When I read about Pinkathon sometime back, I never knew it was about to unlock so much potential from within every Indian woman. Aimed at making women’s lives healthier, this marathon encourages us to run in order to stay fit both physically and mentally.

The Pinkathon is India’s Biggest Women’s Run and was founded by Milind Soman and Reema Sanghavi. These fitness freaks, since then, have been encouraging women to adopt a healthy lifestyle so that they can spread the same message amidst their family members.

Milind was in Jaipur today to introduce us to the four runners (three men and one woman) who will run from Jaipur to Delhi, covering 260 kms, starting tomorrow in about 65-70 hours.”This will be the first time we will run non-stop, throughout the night,” said Milind.

With lakhs of women participating in Pinkathon every time, the organization has collected about Rs 60 Lacs towards the treatment of underprivileged women suffering from cancer.

While interacting with the media, Milind said, “We wanted to create a platform where all women can come together and celebrate their health. If you notice, very fewer women participate in Indian marathons. We don’t really have an active lifestyle culture in our country. With Pinkathon, we are planning to change that.”

About the running-saree that he’s designing for Indian women, he explained, “I am so excited about this saree. Hopefully, by the end of this year, you can see it in the market. Hundreds of women have told me they are as eager as I am.”

JWB asked him if he remembers any inspiring story of a female runner from Pinkathon. To which, he replied, “Oh, there are so many. There was this one woman who lost 20 kgs after she began running. She made Pinkathon’s vision her own. After that, her family’s lifestyle changed tremendously, too.”

JWB noticed that there’s only one woman among the four runners accompanying Milind. And so, we asked WHY. Milind gave us ‘the look’ and replied, “Because YOU are not running.”

Oops!

He ended the chat by saying, “Dear women, fitness starts from your mind. Don’t limit yourself by saying you cannot run. For a human to run is natural. No efforts are needed. No money is required. You need no equipment, just determination. So the next time we do this, YOU are joining me. Okay?”

Okay, Milind. *heart wali smiley*
