Every Indian is trying to do some jugaad to exchange their 500 and 1000 rupee notes that ceased to be a legal tender from November 9, 2016.

Well, if you really want to put those defunct notes to some good use, here’s your chance.

An animal activist from Chennai, Shravan Krishnan, has initiated a donation drive to treat rescued animals and according to his , his shelter will be accepting the old Rs. 500 and 1000 notes.

He said in an interview that the decision to accept Rs. 500 and 1000 notes are to encourage more people to come forward and donate.

“They won’t have to queue up in banks, and they are actually helping a cause,” he said.

Krishnan told in an interview, “We rescued 43 dogs, three cows, and six cats during Diwali. We’ve already spent a lot of money on these animals’ treatment. So we were planning to start a donation drive for them and seek funds.”

He also explained how the rescued animals had been injured with firecrackers and some of them were even run over by the cars during Diwali days. Isn’t it inhumane that just for our little fun we are harming the lives of innocent animals?

However, there are people like Krishnan who try to clean up our mess and JWB salutes his spirit and his work. So, let’s all contribute to his noble cause, shall we?

P.S. To contribute, you can contact his shelter on +91-7845018969 and +91-9841588852.
