It appears that the thriving web series industry of India is soon going to get a gritty show which will be standing apart from its other counterparts.

Apparently, Ekta Kapoor’s new web series which will go on air next year is about the first Indian girl to join the army. Sounds interesting, eh?

And when you hear that the incredibly talented Nimrat Kaur will be playing the lead then you understand that this is one show that you will regret to miss.

Although fictitious, the plot stands out from most other daily soaps or web series which are currently catering to the Indian audience.

Kaur whose meteoric rise after acting in the critically acclaimed Lunchbox is for everyone to see, is also fresh off her stint in the US super hit TV series Homeland, which has been bringing her rave reviews.

And you know, what’s the icing on the cake? Apparently, this show will be directed by none other than Nagesh Kukunoor who in the past have charted out some excellent films such as Iqbal, Dor and also his most recent, Dhanak.

So, when Kapoor, the queen of daily soaps collaborates with talent powerhouses such as Kaur and Kukunoor, we can certainly expect some fireworks that will take the world of web series by storm.

Given the fact that web series is the future of entertainment shows and gives ample scope for actors and directors to experiment, this show could be a milestone.

As for Kaur, who herself comes from an army background, she is very excited and can’t wait to start shooting for the show.

It could be fairly said that it’s not only the people associated with the show, in the coming days we are going to see the audience, as well as the social media too, jump in the discussion. Best of luck folks!
