This New Website Is Taking Britain Down The Route Of Polygamy

I have always felt words such as fidelity, morality and old-fashioned values quite dubious because of the way they are most often twisted and used for the convenience of people with vested interests.
And when you get to see all these three words on a website that promises men to find second wives, you know that patriarchy just got another pat on the back.
Meet Azad Chaiwala, the man behind SecondWife.com, a dating website that promotes polygamy. Apparently, Mr. Chaiwala, a resident of Britain was so much concerned about the ‘plight’ of men who had to make do with only one wife, that he decided to come up with this novel concept.
Oh and just to show that how much he believes in his product, Chaiwala has announced that he will find his next two wives through the help of the website. But no, as many would, I won’t question the sanity of Chaiwala or his bizarre (and sick) precognition about finding more wives. The fact that he came up with such a website tells eons about him. But I am curious to know about those 35,000 people who have not only registered on the website but are also finding it very good.
We all know the evils of polygamy and how apart from chauvinist it also never gives its due to the woman. The success of this website is indeed a matter of concern, given the fact that polygamy is illegal in Britain.
In his defense, Chaiwala says that since according to the Quran a man can have more than one spouse if he deals with them justly, there’s no harm in coming up with such as the website.
But Mr. Chaiwala, have you taken into stock the way countless women are cheated of their property and left to fend for their own after such a ‘noble’ polygamous man decides to give her talaq? I guess no.
Otherwise, why would you open another website called Polygamy.com (this time no pretense in the name) that serves to a huge western clientele?
Even British politicians such as Khalid Mahmood are not happy with this initiative and say that most often men treat their multiple partners with discrimination.
Well, Mr. Chaiwala I feel that there’s some serious self-introspection that you need to do after taking a break from your tireless effort to find wives, where you can at least reflect upon the damage that you are doing by treating women as mere objects.
As for the testosterone-fuelled male netizens surfing Chaiwala’s website, please de-register. You will be doing the world a big favor.
