Will Fadumo Dayib Be Somalia’s First Female President?

Mother of four, Fadumo Dayib aspires to become first female President of Somalia and will be participating as the candidate for the post in the upcoming elections in 2016.
She is unshakable by many death threats that she has already received and says nothing can stop her from running in the elections.
Born in Kenya, she belongs to a Somalian family, but due to turbulence caused by an outbreak of civil war in Somalia, they were forced to leave and took shelter in Finland. At the time, she was just a small kid, and this entire disturbance affected her life so much that until the age of 14, Fadumo didn’t even know how to read or write.
Later, she went on to pursue Masters in Health Care and Public Health and through her work with the United Nations, Dayib realized that she wanted to help the people of her home country.
It’s the grit of such determined and strong women which bring about a revolution in the world.
