Wow! This M.P. Girl Demanded 10,000 Saplings As Her Wedding Gift

Priyanka Bhadoriya, the 22-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh, has put forward an unusual demand for her in-laws.

She requested for 10,000 saplings to be planted by the in-laws, to which they readily obliged.

She is the resident of Kishipura village in Bhind district of M.P. where it’s amongst one of the community rituals to ask the bride for ornaments or Gold as a choice of her wedding gift. However, Priyanka chose neither and instead wanted to grow trees in order to preserve the nature and greenery.

Reportedly, her demand for planting saplings was rooted in her farmer father’s struggles with drought and dwindling crop yields because of the fast-depleting green cover in their area.

She has been actively planting saplings since the age of 10.

She had the full support of her husband who lauded her efforts of conserving the environment.

Out of the 10,000 saplings, half were planted at her parental home and rest at her in-law’s place.

The couple also planted three trees in Kishipura village before leaving for Jalaun, where her husband’s family resides.

The marriage ceremony took place on Friday, which was surprisingly International Earth Day.

Priyanka Bhadoriya’s initiative is commendable and inspiring.
