Wow! This Popular Magazine Featured Trans Model On It’s Cover

In November 2015, Kerala became the first state in India to formulate a Transgender policy and ensured equal rights to the LGBT community.
Now, Vanitha, the most popular women’s magazine in Kerala, for the first time, featured a transgender model on its latest cover.
Deepthi (earlier known as Shinoj) is the cover face of Vanitha’s July issue. The magazine also features her story where she talks about her life, struggles, and transformation.
Vanitha’s effort is commendable, and it’s definitely a step ahead for the LGBT. And, we hope other states and other publications takes inspiration from Kerala and Vanitha and empower the community by envisaging equal identification and rights as other genders.
