Aditi Mittal Tweets A Pokerface To Fake Feminists

The first time I ever saw Aditi’s work was while she was on AIB’s Roast. The last time I heard of her was when she released a video of herself talking about the taboo revolving around periods. She’s so hilarious; I cannot. *Flicks tear*
Last Sunday, she started ranting about feminism and pseudo-feminists. All I can say here is that she spoke the frickin’ truth.

Feminism has now become a commercial strategy, but people still haven’t understood the concept. They show that they are feminists and want to empower women but at the same time, they’re only doing it for the cash.
Advertising agencies create ad campaigns showing empowered women, empowered in a safe way. The people that order these campaigns are the same people who are one of the many reasons behind gender wage gap. They’re the same people who don’t let women break glass ceilings. They don’t count her voice in board room meetings. Their factories continue producing fairness creams and weight loss teas.
They want to empower women in a way that’s comfortable for themselves.
“They’re okay using women empowerment to sell potato chips but, at other times, it’s too serious a subject? Like, seriously?!”
These are Aditi’s words from a recent interview. Even though they’re not my words, I want to agree with her and send a Z snap finger formation to all those pseudo-feminists out there.
