The wedding season is here, and instead of taking expensive trips to the parlour to get an artificial glow, I’m going to give you recipes of five homemade face masks so that you get the ‘natural’ youthful radiance on your skin!

Carrot Mask

Carrots are rich in vitamins C, K, which are really beneficial for healthy skin. For those who have oily skin, carrot soaks excess sebum from the skin and has antibacterial properties that prevent acne and pimples. Carrots boost complexion and also smoothen the skin out.

Here’s how you can make a carrot mask:

2 fresh carrots + 1 tbsp honey

Grind the carrot with the honey and apply it to the face. Let it stay for twenty minutes and wash it off with cold water for best results.

Potato Mask

This mask is easily the best face mask for getting a naturally clear skin. It helps cool down skin inflammation, reducing skin tan and pigmentation. Potatoes are rich in Vitamin C, A, B, phosphorous, potassium, protein and iron. Whoa! That’s a lot. Curd works as a natural bleaching agent and moisturizer that helps remove dullness from the skin.

Add one spoon of the mashed potato to half a spoon of curd. Mix it well. Leave it on your face for twenty minutes to get a ‘bride-like’ glow to your skin.

Tomato Mask

They say tomato masks are all-rounders when it comes to good skin. It is a perfect remedy for a homemade facial for oily skin. Since tomatoes are acidic, they reduce acne and pimples. Vitamin A and C improve the health of the skin, reduce oiliness by shrinking the big pores on cheeks. Lemon peel, however, works great for perfect skin exfoliation.

Grab a tomato and half a spoon of dried tomato peel powder. Squeeze four drops of lemon juice. Mix it all together and apply it to your face. Wash it off in fifteen minutes!

Cucumber Mask

Cucumber is hands down the best skin ‘brightening’ mask ever. What’s more, it also helps with healing sun burnt skin.

Mix one tbsp cucumber juice in one teaspoon of lime juice, turmeric and glycerine. Also, apply it around the eyes with cotton balls. Leave it on for thirty minutes and wash it off with cold water. For best results, use it daily for a week. If you have dry skin, throw in some glycerine.

Mint Mask:

If you’ve got oily skin, a mint mask is the best natural solution to reduce the oiliness naturally. Mint leaves have anti-bacterial properties and controls sebum production. Vitamin A in mint improves the texture of the skin. Mint also helps in removing scars.

Take a handful of Pudina leaves and leave them to dry for a couple of days. Mix it with rose water. Apply it to the face and clean after two hours.

Good luck with the wedding season!
