LOL! This All-Men Panel Is Judging A Women’s Award!

Irony just committed suicide! Imagine, a list of the 50 most influential women in the media will be prepared and for that, a jury comprising big names of the industry has been assembled. But here’s the catch – there are no women in the jury, which consists only of middle-aged men.
Yup, precisely this has happened in the case of ‘Impact 50 most influential women 2016’ in media, management and advertising. The men who have been ‘bestowed’ with the honour of selecting this list are some of the most influential businessmen from the media and corporate industry. After going through the list, the one thing that sticks out like an eyesore is the fact that why there aren’t any women in the list?
This ‘high power’ jury will be selecting the top 50 women achievers from the media, who in the last year have managed to make a mark for themselves in the industry. I wonder that what will be the reaction of the women who will make it to the list. Will they be happy on the achievement or feel it derogatory to be selected by an all men jury, who seem to echo the belief that no women from the industry were good enough to be a part of the panel!
It’s not that there is any dearth of women in the biz world who couldn’t give this board a run for their money, then why create a jury that only has men in it? As usual, the organizers needed to be pointed out that this move is blatantly sexist. And the job was done by none other than the twitterati, who instantaneously made the topic trend on the micro-blogging website.
The situation was not that bad during last year when Vinita Bali was also one of the jury members and the organizers had said that they didn’t want the jury to be an ‘all-male bastion.’
However it seems that now, shedding every ‘pretence’ of gender equality they have adopted a completely opposite approach, where only men decide that who are the most ‘worthy’ women to be included in the list.
Seems like the apocalypse is near!
