Professor Babysits Student’s Infant Child During Class After Babysitter Cancels

Teachers are given the respect for being a source of inspiration and education for students. But this teacher has crossed all levels of awesomeness after he offered to comfort his 33-year-old student Katy Humphrey’s 4-month-old daughter, Millie.

Apparently, Katy’s babysitter cancelled on her at the last moment, and she had no choice but to bring the baby to college.

After Millie started getting a bit ‘fussy’, the assistant professor of Health, Human Performance and Recreation Darryn Willoughby, picked her up in his arms and carried her for the entire lecture so that his student wouldn’t get stressed.

“I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable because there was nothing to feel uncomfortable about,” Willoughby said.

Humphrey is pursuing a degree in exercise physiology said that she developed a “can-do” mentality from her time in the Marine Corps and had to stick around for the class despite the change in her plans.

“So I was thinking, ‘Well I hope I can balance both.”

Mr. Willoughby, you’re a real hero!
