Radhika Menon Becomes The First Woman In The World To Receive The Award For Exceptional Bravery At Sea

Radhika Menon, India’s first woman Captain of Indian Merchant Navy, is now the first woman in the world to receive an award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea. Whoa!
She earned the award after saving lives of seven fishermen, who had little chances of survival. As they say, a life saver holds much more importance than the birth-giver!
The fishermen’s boat engine had failed, and it had drifted to Gopalpur, Odisha. Menon’s team was attentive enough and saw the ship drowning. The families of the fishermen had lost all hope and assumed that they’d be dead.
But, fortunately, another naval officer Manoj Chauhan of Radhika’s team had things under control.
