Sakshi Malik Will Be More Than Just A Face For ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Initiave

On Wednesday, Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana, felicitated the Olympic bronze medalist and wrestler Sakshi Malik. The Haryana Government also declared to award her with 2.5 crores and a class two level job in the State Government.
But the highlight of the felicitation ceremony was that the Chief Minister announced Sakshi as the Haryana’s brand ambassador of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative.
Sakshi accepted the honor and said,
“Want to thank everyone for their support, hope to continue to receive such support in the future as well.”
Kudos! No one could have been more suitable than Sakshi to promote and encourage the importance of girl child and her education in Haryana. The sex ratio in Haryana and its women literacy rate is one of the lowest in our country and therefore, Sakshi being the face of the noble initiative should have a positive impact on the society.
JWB congratulates Sakshi for endorsing Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and would like her to become an unconventional role model for the community. Also, it will be interesting to see how she uses the social media handles to raise awareness about the issue and encourage girl education. We hope that apart from supporting the government-led schemes, she also strikes direct communication and direct involvement with the people in the more conservative and orthodox villages so that the change can initiate at the grassroots level.
