For all those whose beloved Adidas Stan Smith sneakers have suffered a bit of wear and tear over the years, you can take a clue from these amazing designers who totally bowled us over with their beautiful modifications and edgy relook!

This fashion’s favorite sneaker has hit the streets and become a ‘must have’ in all fashionistas closets. While there have been numerous versions of this sneaker, we bring you the most delightful looks. As the man behind the iconic shoe, legendary tennis player Stan Smith, makes his way to India, some of the country’s finest designers (Namrata Joshipura, Rahul Mishra and Aneeth Arora of Péro) came up with their covetable designs of the iconic sneaker.

Namrata Joshipura, has skillfully used both gold and silver to give this cool sneaker a glamorous spin. “I decided to stay true to my signature aesthetic, which involves complex embroideries and the use of color. The gold lines highlight the linearity and the encrusted crest and wings add a glam twist,” says Joshipura.

Aneeth AroraI love Péro!!! She who makes all things look cool and classy and wow, used these cute little crochet flowers, to strike the perfect balance between sporty and pretty. “What I love about the shoe is the nostalgic connection and the way they wear out beautifully. We decided to use the same flowers which we were already developing with Afghani refugees for our spring /summer 2017 collection. Each petal is meticulously hand-crocheted and assembled to create different flowers.” explained Arora.

Rahul Mishra while re-booting the Stan Smith sneakers took cues from the works of a renowned impressionist. “The sneakers imbibe a canvas-like quality, teasing us with hints of hand-sewn motifs inspired by Henri Rousseau. Traditional artisans have brought the shoe to life with embroidered and embellished rainforests reflecting multi-layered stories of nature, craft, and art,” says Mishra.

Kudos designers for giving such a wonderful makeover to these iconic shoes!
