Tarun Tahiliani’s Indian Courtesan Inspired Collection Is Every Bride’s Dream

One of the most popular fashion designers of India, Tarun Tahiliani, amazed the audience with ‘The Last Dance of the Courtesan.’ A collection dedicated to the Indian courtesans, Tahiliani showcased it on the second day of the FDCI India Couture Week 2016.
Embellished with the variety of Swarovski crystals, the colors that dominated the collection were shades of yellow, red, pink and orange. The use of fabrics like cotton jacquards, cotton silks, crepes and cutwork jamdanis, suggested the lightness and perfect fall of the dream-like bridal outfits.
“I wanted to go back to the roots. Today, the bridal wear has become too heavy and costumy. So, I felt it’s time to go back to not just costume but to be modern. My collection was super glamorous yet modern and contemporary,” said Tahiliani post the show.
