VIDEO: Your Favorite Rom Coms Have Been Sexist All Along!

If we set aside the rose-tinted glasses with which we watch romcoms and go all ‘awwww’, we will notice that most of them are goldmines for sexism.
And funnily enough, not only do we fail to notice the sexist streak; we also helpless fall in love with the chauvinist protagonists. I swallowed this bitter pill of realization only after I watched this video from MTV.
We’ve been drooling over 100-year-old men who stalk us while we sleep (Edward Cullen), not to mention going gaga over the overtly dominant and controlling men (Christian Grey).
*Cringes awkwardly* Just watch the video already, will you!
As I’m writing all this, the legend-wait-for-it-dary Barney Stinson is reigning my mind. Damn!
