Jessica Chastain Cheers When Women Succeed, But, Do You?

As girls, we stand united, right? RIGHT?

Oh my god, is that a no?

Jessica Chastain knows that when another woman succeeds, it doesn’t mean she fails.

Recently, in an interview with Haute Living, she discussed how important it is for women to support each other.

“There has been a stigma out there that women don’t work well together. I’ve never seen women like this,” Chastain told Haute Living. “I remember growing up hearing this myth, which women fight when they’re together, and it’s completely inaccurate. I’ve never seen it.”

She further added, “I also know during Oscar season [2012-2013] media because they were trying to get headlines and get clicks, were trying to fabricate a fake rivalry between Jennifer Lawrence and myself and I immediately came out and said this is a media myth that has to stop. The women I know are not like this, and I cheer for women to succeed because I know when an actress succeeds that means there’s going to be that many more roles for women because an audience is going to demand it.”

Maybe these thoughts that we hear about ourselves lead us to believe that we do suck at healthy-encouragements. What do you think?
