After The Questionable Ad With Pan Bahar, Pierce Brosnan Says The Contract Misled Him

It was a funny morning when I saw Pierce Brosnan on the front page of the newspaper posing with a Pan Bahar. Needless to say, I drew out my phone to see the advertisement.
The entire time, I was wondering how Pierce Brosnan agreed to do the advertisement. It was the topic of the day, behind the scenes at the JWB office, too.
Well, and were we right! Here’s what Pierce Brosnan said in an interview with People Magazine, “As a man who has spent decades championing women’s healthcare and environmental protection, I was distressed to learn of Pan Bahar’s unauthorized and deceptive use of my image to endorse their range of pan masala products.”
He said that he was deeply shocked and saddened by the unauthorized and deceptive use of his image in the Pan Bahar ad that ran in the country.
“I would never have entered into an agreement to promote a product in India that is dangerous to one’s health,” he said.
“Having endured, in my own personal life, the loss of my first wife and daughter as well as numerous friends to cancer, I am fully committed to supporting women’s healthcare and research programs that improve human health and alleviate suffering,”
“I shall endeavor to rectify this matter,” he said. “In the meantime, please accept my sincerest and heartfelt apologies to all whom I have offended.”
To a point, it did play a role in tarnishing the actor’s image. Pan Bahar, you’ve effectively ruined your reputation in front of a foreign audience, though. However, Mr. Bond, a little homework causes no harm.
